Prism
A calm alternative to the feed

Look up. Stay present.

Prism replaces the doom-scroll with something quieter: one intention for the day, gentle nudges to notice the real world, and a clear digest of what's actually happening — world and local. Free, private, no account.

Example
Saturday, August 1
Today's intention Finish the draft, calmly.
  • Went outside
  • A meal with no phone
  • Noticed something around me
How it works

Three small things, once a day

1

Set one intention

Not a to-do list — a single direction for the day. Type it, and it's there when you need it.

2

Be present

Check off small real-world moments: go outside, a phone-free meal, notice something around you.

3

Catch what matters

A short, plain-language read of world and local news. Get informed, then get on with your day.

The whole point

Less scrolling. More living.

Get what you need, then close the tab. Prism is proud to be the app you don't stay in.

No dark patterns

Built to give attention back

No infinite feed, no streaks to break, no outrage-bait. Prism shows you the day, a little news, and gets out of the way. Miss a day and nothing punishes you.

Calm by design

Quiet type, soft motion, and a gentle week view — never a red badge in sight.

World & local, made clear

The news, without the noise

Headlines in plain language with a one-line "what this means." Switch between world and your town. Read it once, and you're caught up — no rabbit holes.

World·Today

A headline, in words anyone can follow

One calm sentence explaining what happened and why it matters — then you move on.

Private by default

Yours, on your device

Your intention and habits are saved in your browser — no account, nothing sent to a server. Prism can't read your device screen time, and doesn't try to.

Questions

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. Prism is a free web tool — set your intention, track presence habits, and read the news digest at no cost. No account required.

Where is my data stored?

On your device only, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, and there's no login.

Does it track my screen time?

No — and it can't. Websites have no access to your device's screen-time data, and Prism doesn't try to. The point is to help you use screens less, not measure them.

Where does the news come from?

Prism presents world and local stories in a calm, readable format. When self-hosted, it connects to a real news source — no invented headlines, ever.
